A chill in the air

7 Nov

November and December are perhaps my favourite months of the year. Ignoring the horrible cold I have, the icy conditions and the sleet that soaks right through you, it is the most wonderful time of the year. The shops are filled with Christmas goodies, it’s acceptable to have a mince pie and Starbucks is the only place for a toffee nut latte. Fresh Christmas trees line the streets of my market town ready to be purchased and planted and the first blanket of snow can be seen.

November means it’s certainly too cold just for a thin jacket and my beloved snakeskin flats are replaced by riding boots, Wellingtons and every outfit comes with a pair of earmuffs or a bobble hat. Fashion at this time of year is so cosy and warm. Everyone is bundled up, stylish leather gloves and all.

There are so many beautiful items of clothing and darling accessories out at the moment that just make me excited to walk through the snowy lanes of Nottingham. Here are my 7 favourite pieces at the moment- one treat for every day of the week!

Parka, £179, NW3 Hobbs

Lace up courts, £159, Hobbs

Mustard cardigan, £19.99, Dressrail.com

Sploshing about in style!

5 Nov

The boyfriend and I are off to Chatsworth tomorrow for their gorgeous bonfire and firework display. I can’t wait for the hot cups of mulled wine, the pretty colours whizzing up into the air and the cute romantic feeling that seems to always overtake you every time you step inside Chatsworth Gardens.

However, I’m not looking forward to the masses of mud I’m told to expect! Hundreds of people- big and small- will be plodding through the gardens which will, I expect, be rather soggy after a week of rain.

To combat this, I’m on the hunt for a gorgeous pair of wellies! My festival-favourites are looking a little old and worn. Then I came across these from Accessorize. Leopard print and floral? Hell Yeah!

If you fancy plodding through mud puddles with style, pick yours up from Accessorize for a mere £25!
