A chill in the air

7 Nov

November and December are perhaps my favourite months of the year. Ignoring the horrible cold I have, the icy conditions and the sleet that soaks right through you, it is the most wonderful time of the year. The shops are filled with Christmas goodies, it’s acceptable to have a mince pie and Starbucks is the only place for a toffee nut latte. Fresh Christmas trees line the streets of my market town ready to be purchased and planted and the first blanket of snow can be seen.

November means it’s certainly too cold just for a thin jacket and my beloved snakeskin flats are replaced by riding boots, Wellingtons and every outfit comes with a pair of earmuffs or a bobble hat. Fashion at this time of year is so cosy and warm. Everyone is bundled up, stylish leather gloves and all.

There are so many beautiful items of clothing and darling accessories out at the moment that just make me excited to walk through the snowy lanes of Nottingham. Here are my 7 favourite pieces at the moment- one treat for every day of the week!

Parka, £179, NW3 Hobbs

Lace up courts, £159, Hobbs

Mustard cardigan, £19.99, Dressrail.com

Striped dress, £32.50, Dorothy Perkins

Fitzrovia wellington boot, £145, Hunter

Striped boot socks, £19, Hunter

Animal ears, £6, Claire's

Sploshing about in style!

5 Nov

The boyfriend and I are off to Chatsworth tomorrow for their gorgeous bonfire and firework display. I can’t wait for the hot cups of mulled wine, the pretty colours whizzing up into the air and the cute romantic feeling that seems to always overtake you every time you step inside Chatsworth Gardens.

However, I’m not looking forward to the masses of mud I’m told to expect! Hundreds of people- big and small- will be plodding through the gardens which will, I expect, be rather soggy after a week of rain.

To combat this, I’m on the hunt for a gorgeous pair of wellies! My festival-favourites are looking a little old and worn. Then I came across these from Accessorize. Leopard print and floral? Hell Yeah!

If you fancy plodding through mud puddles with style, pick yours up from Accessorize for a mere £25!

It’s time to look hot in hotpants!

Have you got festival fever yet? Or are you planning on partying in Ibiza for two weeks solid? Whatever your plans, it’s time to get those pins out and keep your eyes out for some stylish shorts.

Whether you’re spending your days milling around in the park or topping up your tan on the beach, these floral shorts from Missguided are the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe. Wear with wellies and a straw hat for V Festival or team with bangles and nude ballerina flats for shopping in the city.

These floral print denim hotpants come in at £19.99– bargain!

G21 Limited Collection by George at Asda.

17 May

I have to admit that I’m a big George at Asda fan- the prices and the styles (and the catwalk copies!) never fail to slip into my trolley during my weekly shop. When I’d seen that the G21 range had launched a limited collection, I knew I had to feature it. Fashion forward styles including perfect party dresses and festival friendly playsuits make a brilliant addition to anyone’s wardrobe. And with everything priced at £25 and under, how can you resist? Here are my favourites from the collection…

Wear this sequin fringe top tucked into high waist shorts and add a pair of wellies for the perfect Glasto look!

Channel Miu Miu with this fabulous cat print playsuit.

Take inspiration from Kate Moss with this statement star print dress.

Finally, my favourite piece- this waterfall gold dress is bound to get you noticed on nights out and at gigs; just add a stack load of glitter eyeliner and you’re good to go!

The collection is available in sizes 6-20 and can be bought online now.

The perfect festival tunic from Forever Unique.

The weather is so confusing- sun and a light breeze in some parts of the country, horrible freezing snow in others. Whatever the weather is like where you are, it’s time to start thinking about that summer wardrobe.

Are any of you going to festivals this year? This Forever Unique top would be so perfect teamed with jeggings, a straw trilby, sunnies and some wellies. I’m loving the colour and the crystals!

At £80, it is a little more than I’d normally pay but- like the brand name suggests- it’s really unique and would make you look like the coolest rock chick around!
