Green Rewards: the eco way to shop.

9 Sep

I’ve always been quite green- I’m very much into recycling, I don’t fly and I’m wary of switching off plugs and running too much water. I’m currently reading this book which is changing the way I think about my way of living. I intend on making a few small changes in the coming months which will contribute more to saving the environment and I’m a firm believer in the Tesco mantra of “every little helps”.

When I came across Green Rewards, I was thrilled. Shopping and living a green life don’t tend to go hand in hand- do you really think that only-worn-once Primark shift dress is ethical? Excess consumerism, something I am more than guilty of, is many a girls’ downfall when it comes to bagging green points.

However, Green Rewards are all about giving you some major green brownie points (so to speak). With over 600 eco products featured, Green Rewards provide a one stop shop for eco-friendly gifts, interiors, clothing and more. The rather brilliant thing about this site is that you can earn, as the name suggests, green rewards. A bit like a Boots Advantage Card, the more you shop the more points you total up. The points can be spent in the Green Shop and you can gain points via High Street stores including Marks and Spencer, The Body Shop and All Saints.

I’ve added more than a few things to my wish-list. My boyfriend recently described my stash of Lush products as “weird hippy sh*t” but I think even he would be impressed by Green Rewards!

Have a look at my best picks of pretty girlie things from the Green Shop and let me know what you think of the concept.
